Family reunification is an essential human right and a key factor in the emotional and social stability of refugees and migrants. This thematic area promotes mechanisms that facilitate keeping families together, overcoming administrative and documentary barriers.
Reunification strengthens social cohesion and contributes to the integration of communities, ensuring that migration processes respect family unity and particularly protect children and adolescents in situations of mobility. It also supports socioeconomic integration and promotes regional cooperation to harmonize consular procedures and strengthen coordination between protection services.
