Building Regional Solutions for Human Mobility

The Quito Process brings together efforts among countries to transform migration challenges into shared solutions.

Created in September 2018 at the initiative of the Government of Ecuador, with the support of 10 Latin American and Caribbean countries. It emerged in the context of a sustained increase in migration flows, particularly of Venezuelan nationals, and in response to the need to coordinate regional responses to the pressure on receiving States’ capacities.

To be a reference intergovernmental forum that promotes solidarity-based, inclusive, and sustainable solutions to the challenges of human mobility in the region, with global projection in the development of rights-based policies.
