The Civil Society Network of the Quito Process (RESC) is composed of non-profit organizations and social movements that promote the defense of human rights and the well-being of refugees and migrants in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Their participation provides a comprehensive perspective on the challenges of human mobility, strengthening dialogue and regional cooperation.
The official incorporation of civil society into the Quito Process took place during the VII Round, under the Pro Tempore Presidency of Brazil in 2022. Subsequently, during the XI Round, under the Presidency of Ecuador, the creation of the RESC was formalized as a space for coordination and participation in the various thematic areas of the Process. RESC Structure
The RESC is composed of the Pro Tempore Presidency, the Technical Secretariat, a General Coordination, specialized technical focal points for each thematic area, and the network’s member organizations.
Founding networks and coalitions
In addition, new coalitions and networks working on human mobility issues in the region may join, provided they have representation in at least three Quito Process member countries and a regional focus. Membership requests must be formally submitted to the Technical Secretariat and are approved by the Pro Tempore Presidency in office.
